Transfer Orders issued in Public Works and Water Resources Department in respect of Asst. Engineers, Jr. Engineers, Superintendents, FDAs, Stenos, SDAs, Typists, Drivers and Group D employees.
Public Works Department is responsible for construction & maintenance of Roads, Bridges, Government buildings, Ports & works related to Inland Water Transport.
An Information Technology Cell was established in PWD headed by Chief Information Officer.
Road Information System based on GIS has been developed. Public Works,Ports & Inland Water Transportation Department has been computerised upto sub-division level.
The Road Network maintained by the Department consists of National highways, State Highways
& Major District Roads. Most of the road network length is either Single Lane or Intermediate Lane.
